Vespa GTS 300 Travels
"Vespa has taken me a total circumnavigation of Ireland, including the "Wild Atlantic Way," plus a 1000 mile ride in the aftermath of Hurricane Gonzolo to Esha Ness on Shetlands North West Coast via John-o-Grouts and Orkney. in all, 9000 kilometres free from aches and pains. Vespa has given me a new lease of biking life. I've even got use to not receiving any return waves from fellow bikers. This got under my skin at first, but not anymore, I still do it and if they acknowledge me, I'm happy, if they don't, I'm still happy. I'm also not into clubs as such. I support one, who take the mickey out of me when I can attend their rally, but it's all in good taste, however my riding is always solo and alone. I find it better that way. I only have to worry about myself.
So my big ride next year is to Jokkmok in Sweden. Why Jokkmok? It's a town on the Arctic Circle for one, but what truly inspired me was watching the BBC 4 drama "The Bridge" it's a fabulous superstructure linking Denmark with Sweden. So the plan is ferry to Rotterdam, then to Copenhagen. Next day, over the Bridge to Malmo and on to Sodderhamn. Then on to Jokkmok the following day. The return trip will be via Gothenburg ferry into Immingham and home.
